Postdoc - femtosecond absorption spectroscopy of magnetic membranes
|
5/23/23: We have an immediate opening for a postdoc to work on ultrafast absorption spectroscopy of magnetic membranes, as part of a new effort within the Wisconsin MRSEC. The candidate will work on magnetic membranes, instrument development for the new X-FAST facility, and run the user program. Candidate will work closely with Profs Uwe Bergmann (Physics), Jun Xiao (MSE), Jason Kawasaki, and other MRSEC PIs. Please see the flyer below and contact [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected].

Postdoc - mechanisms for Heusler remote and van der Waals epitaxy
7/16/23: We have an opening for a postdoc to study how defects, in graphene and in the underlying substrate, control the early stages of remote and van der Waals epitaxy of Heusler compounds, and how to control the bottom-up synthesis of strained and twisted membrane bilayers. The ideal candidate should be experienced with MBE growth of intermetallic, III-V, oxide, or 2D materials. Additional experience in surface science characterization such as STM and photoemission is also helpful. The candidate would work closely with other group members who are working on tuning magnetism, superconductivity, and topological states in strained membranes of these materials. Please send a CV, short description of research interests, and contact information for 2 references to [email protected]
